Bo & Debbie and were visiting Key West when they saw several Wounded Warriors attempting to negotiate Duval street in their wheelchairs and on their crutches. Many of them were missing limbs and attempting to cope with their scars from war.
Seeing them moved Bo & Debbie to take action. They asked themselves "What could we do? What skills or talents do we have that would allow us to give something back to these brave men and women? Was there a program or an organization where we could volunteer our time and energies?"

Bo has enjoyed SCUBA since 1985 and became a SCUBA instructor in 1993. Debbie got certified to dive in 2006 and immediately fell in love with the sport. The wanted to share our love of the underwater world with these brave men and women of the military that had given so much of themselves to defend our freedoms. Scuba allows underwater FREEDOM! Several months later Bo had an opportunity to take a Disabled SCUBA diving Instructor course. He has continued and is now an Instructor Trainer.
While there are several similar programs already in operation they could not find any that were focusing on and serving the wounded veterans returning from war and living in Florida. That’s how “Divers 4 Heroes” began .
D4H is a Federally recognized 501c3 dedicated to the rehabilitation of Wounded Warriors though SCUBA diving as a means of rec therapy. D4H is veteran operated.
- D4H offers monthly Discover Scuba in a Swimming Pool Dives.
- Quarterly certification are offered for those wanting to learn to dive!
- Which includes all pool sessions, spring sessions, and a trip to Key Largo!
- We also take advantage of the Living Seas SCUBA DIVE in Disney's Epcot!!!
- Annual Trip to BONAIRE MAY 2012.
